Triangle South Workforce Board

Young Adult & Youth

Overview

Under Title I of WIOA, Standing Youth Committees represent a new mechanism for states and local boards to coordinate, plan, and oversee operational programs related to youth and young adult services. Standing Youth Committees can serve as the architects in designing and building comprehensive youth services at the local level. They can help identify gaps in services and develop a strategy to use competitive selections or community partnerships to address the unmet needs of local youth and young adults. Standing Youth Committees can help coordinate youth policy, ensure quality services, leverage financial and programmatic resources, and recommend eligible youth service providers.
